On the other end, they are windows servers, so they would have whatever the deafult MTU for windows is (1500 ?). So the question is, why doesn't it work for packets of size 1293-1416 bytes ? On my end, the MTU is set to 1300 by the VPN client. ![]() The response time for a 1k size ping is about 100ms. I am specifying a timeout of 6 secs on the ping, so it is not timing out. If I ping with data 1417 and over, it works again. If I do a ping and specify the data size between 1293 & 1416 (inclusive) is does NOT work (ping timeout). ![]() ![]() If I do a ping and specify the data size for ping to use, it works up to 1292 works. When I am connected and do a ping of a machine on the remote network, I experience the following: I am using the Cisco VPN client 4.0.3(A) connecting to a PIX firewall running 6.3.3.
